Production Blog: Editing Operations

Greetings and Salutations!

Welcome to Media TL;DR the series where I break down my greatest projects so you can easily dive in and understand my original ideas. I'm your host Jaydon Smith! And Today's topic is my editing plans for my upcoming commercial.

So what is it?

So before I go after my processes, I should define what the term "edit" is. Of course the most general idea is that it is a technique of mixing and matching different forms of media. For example: Simply putting two pictures and then transforming it into a video. However there is another definition for this term. As a noun, an edit is a form of media, typically using animated characters, that showcases different scenes of a certain character or idea & typically there is music with hard bass drops, and each transition occurs on the beat.. It is meant to look cool and high-paced. An example of a typical edit is placed right next to this text wall. As you can see, it shows different scenes of this character with special effects. (Typically these edits have music but since this is a GIF it does not.)

So what?

Now even though I listed more than one definition, I can assure you that it all has a purpose; I'm not just filling space here. So if you recall my previous post I said I wanted to insert myself into a viral media template. If you look at my requirements for an edit above, it seems awfully similar to it doesn't it. Now I can confidently say that I plan to create an edit of myself for part 1 of my commercial. And then I will conventionally edit that Edit into another video of me. Essentially, Part 1 will be an introduction to Part 2, where I may comment on it, or introduce a semi-relevant video after it.

That's All!

That's it for this Production Blog everyone! I hope I made at least most of my descriptions and intentions clear.. Thank you for reading! And until next time, stay cool and attractive.
